The Comunidad Valencian is privileged thanks to the great variety of beaches it has and the different characteristics of each of them. That's why the team of What to do in Valencia has proposed to show you the 10 most natural and wild beaches / coves of Valencia. Here is a list of places where you can spend a day at the beach and relax in the best way possible, enjoying the sun and the clear waters our coasts offer.

1. "Cala Ambolo" (ALICANTE / JÁVEA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Playa Ambolo is located at the South of Cabo de la Nao and in front of the enigmatic Isla del Descubridor. A rustic stairway carved into the rock gives access to the beach. In it, the gravels dominate and the large blocks of limestone and rocky walls give it a particular attraction. Given the relative difficulty of access can be enjoyed at many times of the year, and even in the summer, that lonely bath that many crave.

It owes its name to the watchtower built in the sixteenth century, whose function was the surveillance and maritime defense of pirate attacks, as well as the other lookout tower of Jávea located in the area of Portitxol.

2. "Cala La Granadella" (ALICANTE / JÁVEA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The cove of the Granadella is one of the small treasures of Jávea. To access the beach there is a steep slope road that, little by little, exhibits the beauty that the beach hides. It is taken from the road Cabo de la Nao, about two kilometers before reaching it.

La Granadella beach is a small and beautiful cove of gravel and rock located in the southernmost area of Xàbia. An ideal place to practice scuba diving for its convenient access, abundant information and crystal clear waters. He has obtained a blue flag since 1987.

3. "Cala Portixol or La Barraca" (ALICANTE / JÁVEA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The beach Cala Portixolo la Barraca is one of the best options for those who like nature. The natural vegetation bursts with force and the crops fall to the edge of the sea. The excellent views of the Island of Portitxol (islet that reaches 300 meters, of great botanical and archaeological interest) are an outstanding incentive. Next to the beach, there is a small sanitary post and modest jetties. It is a good starting point to start dives next to the island, allowing yourself to be accompanied, however, by local guides to enjoy each and every one of the corners of its rich funds.

It can be accessed, both by car from the road of Cabo de la Nao, and on foot from the Mirador de la Cruz del Portitxol. In the vicinity of Cala de la Barraca you can visit four viewpoints: Cruz del Portitxol, L'illa, La Falzia and Cap Negre.

4. "Cala Blanca Beach" (ALICANTE / JÁVEA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Cala Blanca beach gets its name from the dominant coloration of the rock, in which the effect of marine erosion forms natural sculptures of great beauty. From there you have good views of the Montgó. It is composed of three contiguous coves, connected by stone littoral.

Caleta I: Rock and gravel cove located at the end of Ultramar Avenue. It has access by car and the last section is made by a small walk of about 100 m. From there you can access the viewpoint of Cala Blanca.

Caleta II: Rustic cove of gravel and rock that is characterized by its coarse stone arm that goes out to the sea as a barrier, so its waters are usually calm and crystal clear. Access is by foot from Caleta I. It can also be accessed from the Mirador de les Caletes, by stairs.

Caleta del Francés: Rustic gravel cove. Its name derives from Mr. Lambert, a ginebrés illustrated and in love with Xàbia, who had a house just above this cove, which bears his name 'of the French'. Access is difficult and it is done on foot from Caleta II.

5. "Almardà Beach" (SAGUNTO / VALENCIA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Almardà Beach is contiguous to that of Canet d'En Berenguer, but much quieter than its neighbor. In its two kilometers, gravels are mixed with coarse sands next to a dune cord relatively well preserved and of great ecological value. Its clear waters and recreational and health services make Playa Almardà one of the best considered in the Valencian Community and ideal for water sports.

6. "Cala Sardinera Beach" (ALICANTE / JÁVEA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Before turning Cape San Martin and getting the first views of the Island of Portixol, Cala Sardinera is the ideal place for a relaxing bath in a natural environment. Only a few small whitewashed houses interrupt the contemplation of a sector of the coast whose sober beauty prepares us for the contemplation of the impressive limestone cliffs of Cabo de la Nao.

Formerly it was the best place for sardinals, fine nets that were caulked twice a day, at sunrise and sunset, hence the origin of their name. Access to this beach is made from the Mirador de la Cruz del Portitxol, through a path that runs alongside an original and intact nature.

7. "Playa Dossel" (CULLERA / VALENCIA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Dossel beach, located north of the Cabo de Cullera, includes a valuable well preserved dune cord included in the Albufera Natural Park. The Dossel is a quiet area and suitable for the practice of nudism in its northern sector. The beach is very long and its best accesses are found on the north side of the lighthouse.

8. "Cala del Moraig" (ALICANTE / EL POBLE NOU DE BENITATXELL)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The beach of Moraig opens up between steep stone cliffs of more than one hundred meters and transparent waters that keeps stories of smugglers, pirates and humble fishermen who found in the sea the complement that the earth denied them. The beach is ideal for bathing in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition, there is the Cova dels Arcs, a beautiful aquatic cave that is the outlet to the sea of an underground river. A treasure for lovers of scuba diving.

9. "Playa El Gurugú" (CASTELLÓN / CASTELLÓN DE LA PLANA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

El Gurugú beach is in a northerly direction, from Castellón to Benicàssim, with well-maintained sand and a remarkable width of 140 meters on average. The Castellón aerodrome is located in its surroundings, to the south of the mouth of the Riu Sec. A long garden promenade and the bike path complete the facilities of the area.

10. "Playa Rabdells" (VALENCIA / OLIVA)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The beach Rabdells is a beach with marked natural character and a moderate level of occupation, even in summer. The proximity of a couple of campsites, with direct access to the sea, turns it, nevertheless, into a lively beach, and in its environment there are several chiringuitos suitable for relaxation and enjoyment at the edge of the sea. The existing dunes increase the natural character and interest of this quiet beach, ideal to enjoy the sun and a quiet bath.
